we're not in zone 5 anymore

I was browsing seeds on Baker Creek's website today (instead of paying attention in class ahem) and noticed on their blog that back in February, the USDA released a new plant hardiness map.

My last two posts focused on how freaking warm it's been here in Indiana- March had several 80+ degree days! So it's no surprise that central IN is no longer in Zone 5 on the map. Marion County is now in zone 6A, with a low winter temp of -10 degrees F. This past winter, I think we had one day in the teens, and certainly no days below zero.
The map is now interactive and you can select by state or type in a zip code.
